Blind Melon
Formed in Los Angeles in 1990, a group of musicians from different parts of the country. Rogers Stevens (guitar), Brad Smith (bass), and Glen Graham (drums) moved west from Mississippi, while Christopher Thorn (guitar) hailed from Pennsylvania. Completing the lineup was Shannon Hoon, a charismatic vocalist from Lafayette, Indiana. The band quickly gained recognition after Hoon lent his voice to Guns N’ Roses’ “Don’t Cry,” and their early demos caught the attention of Capitol Records, leading to a recording contract. They moved from crafting their unique blend of stripped-down psychedelia in a quiet house—immortalized in the song “Sleepyhouse”—to dominating the Billboard charts and performing at Woodstock ‘94. But success came with challenges. Their 1995 follow-up album, Soup, received mixed reviews upon release, though tracks like “Mouthful of Cavities” have since been celebrated. Just weeks after the album’s debut, tragedy struck when Shannon Hoon died from an overdose during a tour stop in New Orleans. Hoon’s untimely death at 28 left the band reeling. As a tribute, they released Nico, a collection of outtakes named after Hoon’s daughter, and a documentary, Letters from a Porcupine, which earned a Grammy nomination. Despite these efforts, the band disbanded in ’99 after struggling to find a vocalist who could fill Hoon’s shoes. Years later, in 2006, Blind Melon’s journey took an unexpected turn. Smith and Thorn were producing an album for singer-songwriter Travis Warren in Austin, Texas. Warren’s vocal range and raspy edge resembled Hoon’s, but he also brought his own style and vision. The band reunited with Warren on vocals, leading to a string of sold-out shows and the release of their ’08 album, For My Friends. Creativity surged again in 2016 when guitarist Rogers Stevens sent a song sketch to Warren, who quickly added vocals. This exchange ignited a prolific songwriting period that continued into 2018, culminating in a new wave of music. The addition of multi-instrumentalist Nathan Townes further enriched the band’s sound. Stevens noted, “We’re making the best music of our careers. I know everyone says that, but this time, it feels true.” Years of unrealized ideas poured out, resulting in some of the band’s most mature and dynamic work yet. Their resurgence began once again with the release of the single “Way Down and Far Below” in 2019. Looking ahead, Blind Melon has shows lined up for ’25, including a performance with O.A.R. at Red Rocks, signaling the next exciting chapter for the band and their fans. Revisiting Creedence
Featuring powerhouse performers Dan McGuinness and Kurt Griffey, who for a decade rocked stages worldwide with Creedence Clearwater Revival’s founding members Stu Cook and Doug “Cosmo” Clifford, this is a show you won’t want to miss. Even though Cook and Clifford have retired from touring, the magic of Creedence continues through Griffey (lead guitar) and McGuinness (lead vocal), making music and winning hearts and ears across the globe. Rolling Stone recently declared that “Creedence were America’s biggest band in the summer of ’69,” and astonishingly, they remain a dominant force in 2024, with their greatest hits album, “Chronicle,” charting above current and contemporary superstar acts. This enduring legacy speaks to the timeless appeal of CCR’s music, which Revisiting Creedence brings to life with pedigree, unmatched energy, experience and authenticity. Clifford says, “After 25 years of traveling with Revisited, Stu Cook and I decided to retire, but you can still get that great sound with Kurt Griffey and Dan McGuinness and Revisiting Creedence.” Revisiting Creedence delivers more than just a concert; it’s a full-throttle celebration that will have you dancing, singing, and feeling every note of CCR’s iconic hits. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or discovering the magic of Creedence for the first time, Revisiting Creedence will leave you mesmerized. This was more than a band; they are curating the Creedence sound and experience. Their energy on stage was infectious, and it was a multi-generational hit.” Revisiting Creedence has headlined amphitheaters, performing arts centers, fairs and festivals (including Mexico City’s 20,000 attendee Rewind Festival) casino resort properties and private events. Under the umbrella of Legend, they have released two EP’s, a standalone single, and a full length album. Hinder
Multi-platinum American rockers, HINDER, continue to drive a career of longevity that few bands achieve. As one of the few bands to grab massive cross-over success, HINDER’s 2005 debut album, Extreme Behavior, climbed to #6 on the Billboard 200 chart and was the 2nd Top Rock Album. Get Stoned would be the album’s first radio single, climbing to a #4 mainstream rock spot. What followed would end up being one of the biggest songs of the year, Lips of an Angel, which peaked within the top 10 across several Billboard singles charts, including #1 at Top 40 and Pop 100. Extreme Behavior has since been certified 3x Platinum. In 2008 their sophomore effort, Take It To The Limit, surpassed their debut by peaking at #4 on the Billboard 200 and hitting the Mainstream Rock chart at #3 with single Use Me. This solidified HINDER as the biggest new breakout rock act and catapulting them into packed arenas worldwide with the likes of Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Papa Roach, and many others. Jackyl
It’s been three decades since Jackyl shot out of Georgia spewing equal parts hard rock, heavy metal and Southern rock. They’ve never stopped touring or recording, and with 9.2 million views (and growing) of “Lumberjack Song” on YouTube, the quartet are earning rabid new fans daily. The August 2022 release of Jackyl 30 Coming In Hot cements and furthers Jackyl’s no-holds-barred legacy. Or as Dupree, with his unquenchable energy, exclaims, “Thirty years on and we’re still celebrating the fundamentals of rock ‘n’ roll, so Get All Up In It!” On August 11, 1992, Jackyl released their debut album on Geffen Records. It was the middle of Grunge, but Jackyl’s loud, proud and unapologetic rock songs, produced by Brendan O’Brien (Stone Temple Pilots, AC/DC), earned the LP double-platinum status. (And helped land the band a scene-stealing spot on Woodstock ’94.) Videos for the singles “The Lumberjack” (with Jesse James Dupree performing his iconic chainsaw solo), “I Stand Alone,” “Down On Me,” “Dirty Little Mind,” “When Will It Rain” and “Back Off Brother” earned rave reviews and rabid fans for the band’s no-holds-barred energy and lyrics. On August 11, 2022—30 years to the day of Jackyl’s debut—the lineup plays Sturgis, South Dakota’s Full Throttle Saloon, in a raucous celebration of the lineup’s 30th anniversary that also marks the debut of the quartet’s brand-new album, Jackyl 30 Coming In Hot and first single, “Get All Up In It.” “Jeff, Chris and Roman coming down on the ‘one’ together is still a force of nature,” says Dupree. “Thirty years together and I feel we’ve found an honest place about our new music, our fans and us as a band, on and offstage.” Crystal Grand Experience Ticket Includes:- Access to the Crystal Grand Experience Lounge open from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm- Private performance before the show from local acoustic artist- Catered Appetizers courtesy of The Relish Tray- 2 Complimentary Drinks- Seating closest to the stage
