Daniel O’Donnell
Daniel O’Donnell’s remarkable career has moved on to a new level with his success as a TV presenter, just another facet to his ever-expanding list of entertainment achievements. The Donegal based singer, who is one of the most prolific and successful recording artists in the UK charts, is the only artist in the world to score a hit in the UK album charts every year since 1988, an unprecedented and unbroken 35-year span, and in doing so, he has outshone everyone from Michael Jackson and Madonna, to U2 and the Rolling Stones. Daniel’s latest “I Wish You Well’ released on 4 Nov ’22, entered the official UK Album Charts at #16, a great achievement in itself In a very competitive week, especially when you take into account that the main chart is collated from CD, Vinyl and Digital/Streaming sales, but not only that, in the CD-only Chart, Daniel entered at #5, ahead of Taylor Swift and The Beatles !! and entered the Independent Albums chart at #2. Including this latest release, Daniel has now amassed 48 Top 75 albums, including 42 Top 40 albums, 30 Top 30 & 20 Top 10 albums, with 18 of the latter being this century, a feat that has not been achieved by any other recording artist, and has now sold well in excess of 15 million worldwide. ‘Daniel O’Donnell 60’, released in celebration of his 60th birthday in 2021, shot straight into the chart at #4, keeping good company with the likes of The Beatles, Adele and Coldplay. As with the ‘Daniel’ album before it, this recording was produced by legendary record producer Nigel Wright, who co-produced the recordings of many of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musicals, including the film versions of Evita and The Phantom of the Opera, along with many artist albums and TV music shows. Daniel also burst into superstardom in the USA & Canada back in 2002 with his first ever PBS special – The Daniel O’Donnell Show. That began a special relationship between Daniel and PBS that has now lasted some 20 years. Since that first airing, Daniel has had fifteen more specials, with ‘Daniel O’Donnell & Special Guests’ being his record breaking sixteenth, which was filmed at the Millennium Forum in Derry and which is currently still airing on many PBS channels throughout the USA. Daniel’s seventeenth special, is in he planning stages and should be aired sometime in the spring of 2023. Daniel has always had very high viewership ratings in pledge drives across the USA for public service television, and as a result of this and his many other activities in America, his popularity there has grown substantially over the years. It is Daniel’s belief that fans, throughout his time on PBS, have brought him to where he is today, standing beside him making his career a success (as did fans in the UK & Ireland before that), and he will be forever grateful to each and every one of them. Daniel’s concerts around the world sell out on a regular basis and after more than 40 years in the spotlight, as an engaging entertainer, he is still in love with performing and with audiences the world over. Kenny Wayne Shepherd
There are few artists whose names are synonymous with one instrument and how it’s played in service to an entire genre. Utter the phrase “young blues rock guitarist” within earshot of anyone with even a cursory knowledge of the modern musical vanguard and the first name they are most likely to respond with will be Kenny Wayne Shepherd. The Louisiana born axeman and songsmith has sold millions of albums while throwing singles into the Top 10, shining a light on the rich blues of the past and forging ahead with his own modern twist on a classic sound he has embodied since his teens. In a 20-year recording career that began when he was just 16, Shepherd has established himself as an immensely popular recording artist, a consistently in-demand live act and an influential force in a worldwide resurgence of interest in the blues. From television performances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (amongst others) to features in Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, Maxim Magazine, Blender, Spin, USA Today and more, his musical career has been nothing short of phenomenal. At 16 years old, he signed his first record deal and burst onto the national scene with the release of his 1995 debut album Ledbetter Heights, which produced the radio hits “Deja Voodoo,” “Born with a Broken Heart” and “Shame, Shame, Shame.” His relentless touring and success on rock radio helped to drive the album to Platinum sales status. His 1998 sophomore effort Trouble Is… also went Platinum, yielding such radio hits as “Blue on Black,” “True Lies” and “Somehow, Somewhere, Someway.” 1999’s Live On spawned the radio hits “In 2 Deep,” “Shotgun Blues” and “Last Goodbye.” 2004’s The Place You’re In was a blistering rock record and was followed up by 2007’s ambitious 10 Days Out: Blues from the Backroads, for which Shepherd and his band traveled throughout the American South to record with such vintage blues greats as B.B. King, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Hubert Sumlin, Pinetop Perkins and David “Honeyboy” Edwards on their home turf. 2010 saw the release of Shepherd’s long-awaited first live album, Live! In Chicago, recorded at Chicago’s House of Blues during the all-star Legends tour and featuring guest appearances by such blues legends as Hubert Sumlin and Willie “Big Eyes” Smith. The live disc debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Blues chart, as did 2011’s How I Go. In 2013, Shepherd further expanded his musical horizons by teaming with veteran rockers Stephen Stills and Barry Goldberg to form THE RIDES, whose first album Can’t Get Enough helped to expand Shepherd’s audience as well as his musical resume. 2014 saw the release of Goin’ Home, Shepherd’s sixth # 1 debut on the Billboard Blues charts. Goin’ Home features several talented friends who shared Shepherd’s enthusiasm for the project’s back-to-basics ethos. Those guests include fellow guitar icons Joe Walsh, Warren Haynes, Keb’ Mo’ and Robert Randolph, longtime friend Ringo Starr, Fabulous Thunderbirds frontman Kim Wilson, the Rebirth Brass Band and co-producer Blade’s father, Pastor Brady Blade Sr., who lends a bracing dose of preaching to Shepherd’s version of Bo Diddley’s’ “You Can’t Judge a Book by the Cover.” In the months since its release, Shepherd and his band have toured the world extensively blazing a fresh trail for the historical American art form in the 21st Century. KC and The Sunshine Band has celebrated over 40 years of making booties shake. They gave a voice to a generation, helped define an entire culture and continue to make an impact today. With over four decades of success, the group, led by Harry Wayne “KC” Casey, has been in a state of constant renewal in their niche of cultural relevancy–thanks in part to their music being featured in numerous motion picture soundtracks, television shows and national advertising campaigns. KC and The Sunshine Band formed in 1973 with one single purpose: to create instant happiness through music – and the group has done just that, topping the charts with singles including “That’s the Way (I Like It),” “Get Down Tonight,” and “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty,” tallying worldwide sales of over 100 million, and receiving numerous awards. For The Outlaws, it’s always been about the music. All of our locals will lead up to a Nashville face that is a fan favorite every time he makes his way up to Wisconsin, Rick Monroe & the Hitmen! They have recently come off of a 2022 summer tour with Ted Nugent that has propelled them into the spotlight in many new venues, but they’re always happy to come back to the places and communities (including this one) that they’ve grown to know and love like family. The Oak Ridge Boys: Down Home Christmas 2023
The Christmas Show Tradition Once you’ve seen The Oak Ridge Boys’ Christmas show, you will want to make it a family holiday tradition. Since the late 1990’s, the highly acclaimed Christmas tour has played to packed houses across North America. The extravaganza, which features a mixture of traditional and contemporary songs as well as some of the Oaks’ classic country-pop hits, is a full-production show with beautiful visuals, including falling snow and Christmas trees. It also includes a visit from Santa and songs from the group’s eight bestselling Christmas albums. The ORB Christmas touring tradition began when Kenny Rogers invited the group to join his Christmas tour in 1988. The first show, held on November 26, 1988, eventually led to a second year of touring with Kenny. The second tour opened at Universal City (Los Angeles) on November 29, 1989. In 1989, Garth Brooks joined the Oaks and Kenny on a few shows, including one in Philadelphia on December 3, 1989. The following year, commencing on November 29, 1990, the Oaks co-headlined with Marie Osmond on The Magic of Christmas Tour. The Magic of Christmas Tour continued for three years. In 1993, The Oak Ridge Boys invited Brenda Lee and the Chipmunks to join them on a Christmas tour, which launched December 2, 1993. Brenda Lee performed a dozen shows with the group that year. The Chipmunks returned for a second year in 1994. The group started touring without openers in 1995, performing a nearly two and a half-hour show on their own. The format included 40-45 minutes of hits, a 20-minute intermission, and then an hour and 20 minutes of Christmas music and production. The current show format—75 minutes with no intermission—features a video wall, a fireplace and rocking chair segment (thanks to Cracker Barrel) and, of course, a visit from Santa. The Oak Ridge Boys Christmas show has played as a residency at the beautiful Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville for two consecutive years, 2020-2021.
